  • Authentication information: Login credentials and security tokens (e.g., Google OAuth tokens or passwords) used to secure your account.
  • Financial and payment information: Billing metadata, transaction history, and subscription status (processed securely via Stripe).
  • Website content: Text, context, or page elements from the websites you visit that you explicitly choose to interact with using our extensions (e.g., text selected for AI explanation, product details for price comparison).

2. How We Use Information

We use your data to operate Toolr services and our browser extensions, authenticate users, process billing, prevent abuse, improve product quality, and provide customer support. Specifically, website content is used strictly to provide the requested service (like finding a cheaper product, generating a quiz, or explaining text) and is not used to build personal profiles or track your general web browsing.

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share user data only with specific third-party service providers required to run Toolr and its extensions:

  • OpenAI: Website content that you select for AI processing is sent to OpenAI to generate explanations, summaries, or quizzes. OpenAI does not use data submitted via their API to train their models.
  • Stripe: Financial and payment information is sent directly to Stripe for secure payment processing. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.
  • Google: Used for secure user authentication (Google Login).
  • MongoDB: Used for secure cloud database hosting to store your account information, preferences, and credit limits.
  • Resend: Used to deliver transactional emails (e.g., login links, billing receipts).

4. Retention and Security

We retain data for as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and prevent abuse. Toolr does not store your selected website content on our servers after processing, aside from minimal usage logs needed to deduct credits from your account. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data.

You can manage account details from your account page and can request account deletion, data export, or privacy support via email at any time.
